Vivian Brady

LeRoy: Vivian (Vicki) Brady 6/7/2012 Vivian (Vicki) Brady, 89, formerly of LeRoy, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 7, 2012 in Tucson, Arizona. She had been in declining health for several months. Vicki was born on June 17, 1922 in Silver Creek, Nebraska, on the farm owned by her parents, Carl Oscar and Hilda Carlson. During World War II she moved to Washington, D.C. where she worked as a stenographer at the Pentagon. While there, she met a young Army MP, John (Jack) Brady from LeRoy, NY. Before he shipped out to the Pacific Theater, they were married in Tacoma, WA on March 12, 1945. After the war, Jack brought his bride back to LeRoy where they raised four children. Vicki enjoyed being a homemaker. Golf was also a big part of her life, as Jack and Vicki at one time were the owners of the LeRoy Country Club. Vicki was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jack, who died in 1997. Vicki is survived by her children; Maureen (Jim) Hicks and John (Lisa) Brady of Tucson, AZ, Janet (Bernie) Singer of Greenfield Center, NY, and Mary (Mark) Trello of Novato, CA; three lovely granddaughters, Tess Brady Kinsler, Kelly Brady, and Jaclyn Trello; two great-grandchildren, Rian and Jack Kinsler; and two of her eight siblings, Bertha Larson of Nebraska and Olive Butera of California. Family & friends may call at the Cameron Brady & Steuber Funeral Home, 111 Wolcott St. (Rt. 19 South) LeRoy, on Wednesday from 4-7 PM. Rite of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10AM at Our Lady of Mercy Parish (St. Peter's Building). Interment will immediately follow at St. Francis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mercy Parish, 99 Lake Street, LeRoy, NY 14482 or to Casa de la Luz Hospice, 7740 N. Oracle Road, Tucson, AZ 85704.
