Vincent J. "Sliver" O’Grady Obituary (1926

Bergen: Vincent J. O'Grady "Sliver" 4/18/2009 Vincent O'Grady of Bergen, passed away on the afternoon of Saturday April 18th, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester with his family by his side. Mr. O'Grady was born on August 10th, 1926 in Rochester, New York to the late Patrick & Bridget (McGuire) O'Grady. After honorably serving with the US Army, Vincent worked at the Jell-O factory in LeRoy, and retired from Stroehmann Bakeries in Rochester in 1989. He was a member of the Our Lady of Mercy Church (St. Brigid's Parish: Bergen). He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Barbara (Maher) O'Grady, sons; John (Terry Perry), Brian (Debbie) and Daniel O'Grady, daughters; Elizabeth (Michael) Lovett and Rebecca O'Grady, seven grandchildren, Kristine (Kasey Weinert, fiancee), Danielle, Kathleen, Kimberly, Michelle and Lindsey Lovett and Kyle O'Grady, all of Bergen. Also survived by brother Jerome (Mary) O'Grady, of Albany, NY and sister Margaret (Richard) Miller of Lake Clear, NY, brother-in-law Martin Heatherman, of FL, sister-in-laws, Ann O'Grady of Syracuse, NY and Frances O'Grady of Oklahoma, and many nieces and nephews and friends. He is predeceased by brothers, Thomas O'Grady, Father John O'Grady and James O'Grady and sister Rita Heatherman. Family & friends may call at the Cameron Brady & Steuber Funeral Home, 111 Wolcott St. (Rt. 19 South) LeRoy, on Tuesday from 2-4, 7-9 PM. Rite of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10AM at the Our Lady of Mercy Church (St. Peter's Building, LeRoy). Interment will immediately follow at St. Francis Cemetery.
