Ruth Lois Nicholson

LeRoy: Ruth Lois Nicholson 10/5/2009 Ruth Lois Nicholson of LeRoy passed away on the morning of Monday October 5, 2009 at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home, after a brief illness. Mrs. Nicholson was born March 24 , 1916 in Lackawanna, New York to the late Anders & Godfreda (Olsen) Anderson. Ruth was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of LeRoy, where she served as a church elder, deacon and 30 year member of the choir. During her 93 years she held associations with LeRoy Town and Country Garden, the Order of the Eastern Star and worked as a self-employed hairdresser. To all who knew her she will be remembered for her gentle smile, caring ways, & devotion to her family & friends. She is predeceased by her husband William (1967). Survived by children: Carol (David) Frost of LeRoy, Gordon (Suzanne) Nicholson of Canandaigua, William Jr. (Marjorie Katz) Nicholson of Sudbury, MA, Lois Nicholson of LeRoy, 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. There will be NO prior calling hours. Family & friends are invited to attend a memorial service and reception to be held on Thursday, October 8th, at 11AM at the First Presbyterian Church of LeRoy. Interment will be made privately at Machpelah Cemetery in LeRoy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the First Presbyterian Church, LeRoy, NY.
