Marion M. Criger Obituary (1914

LeRoy ~ Marion M. Criger, age 97, formerly of Myrtle Street, died Monday afternoon (Dec. 5, 2011) at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. Mrs. Criger was born February 21, 1914 in LeRoy, a daughter of the late Arch and Anna Buckland McCowan. She will be remembered as a very caring and giving person, who was very active and devoted to the United Methodist Church in LeRoy. Mrs. Criger is survived by her sons, Rexford Miller of LeRoy and David (Darlene) Miller of Avon; her step-daughters, Jane Gillett of LeRoy and Mary Lois Caruthers of Florida; 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Criger, her daughter, Elizabeth Shepherd, step-daughter, Carol Crnkovich, daughter-in-law, MaryAnn Miller, and her brother and sister-in-law, Curtis and Dorothy McCowan. Family and friends may call on Friday from 2 ~ 4 at the Cameron, Brady and Steuber Funeral Home, 111 Wolcott Street (Rt 19 south) LeRoy, where funeral services will be held at 4 PM. Interment will be private in Fairview Cemetery, Pavilion. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either the LeRoy United Methodist Church or the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home Sunshine Fund.
