Le Roy, New York
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Noble, 82, of Le Roy, on June 30, 2025 due to complications of a stroke.
Lovingly known to family and friends as Jim or Jimmy, he was born August 6, 1942, to Helen Mcintyre Noble and R. Ellsworth Noble. He had talked fondly of his childhood growing up on his family farm, playing with his siblings and cousins.
He graduated from York Central School in 1960 and was inducted into the York Central School Athletic Hall of Fame for football in 2018 with his proud family by his side.
Jim married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie Stimson on September 14, 1963 and together they had 3 children.
His pride and joy were his family, working hard and operating Murray Brook Farms with his brother, Bill. Their combined passion for their work was visible to all who knew them and the farm stood as a testament to their hard work and dedication.
A big sports fan, he enjoyed playing baseball on the Murray Brook Farms team in the 1980’s with Bill and some of their good friends. His favorite teams to watch on t.v. were the Buffalo Bills and the New York Yankees. He was thrilled to get his baseball signed by Mickey Mantle.
Jim and Bonnie enjoyed vacationing throughout the years. The Bahamas, Arizona, Las Vegas to name a few places, but two of their favorite spots were Kennebunkport and Old Orchard Beach, Maine.
Jim loved spending his time with family and visiting with friends, telling them his latest jokes. He was a big music lover, often playing it loud in the house or in the car. From Elvis to Vince Gill, Andrea Bocelli to Julio Iglesias, from oldies to country, to jazz, he'd sing or hum along. He loved rooting for his grandkids when they played sports, he loved gardening, taking great care of his lawn, including his land on Lake Le Roy, always planting new bushes or flowers. He loved cooking and baking for Bonnie and for anyone who stopped over. His cookies were the best! A man who couldn't sit still, he was always puttering around outside, playing fetch with his dog Benny or running errands. He loved dropping off goodies to people just to make their day. He was one of the most generous people we've ever known. Not just giving with food and hospitality, but also with time. He loved helping people in any way he could. When you were greeted by him,
you'd either receive a nice, warm hug or a firm handshake. It was the same when saying goodbye, followed by a “love ya!” or "we'll see ya!" Those are just some of the very many things we will miss.
He is dearly missed by his wife Bonnie, their children, Jill (Douglas) Panepento of Le Roy, Randall (Jennifer Tytler) Noble of Le Roy and Katie (Kevin) Mann of Wyoming, NY. Grandchildren, Rachael (Cody) Luna, Michael (fiancé, Kristen Slaven) Panepento, Gabrielle (Will Reschke) Panepento, Alex (Emma Andrews) Panepento, Joshua, Nicholas and Ronnie Noble, and Kameryn and Kennedy Mann. Along with 5 great grandchildren and his beloved blue heeler Benny. Sister, Margaret (Dan) Carr, and brothers William
(Deborah) Nable, Richard (Brenda) Noble, Phillip (Barbara) Noble, John (Lillian) Lathrop and several nieces and nephews.
"We'll see ya” Dad. Until we're together again. We love you.
A memorial service for Jim will take place on Saturday, August 9th at 10:00 a.m. at the Covington United Presbyterian Church at 1701 Craig Rd in Pavilion. The family invites all who knew and loved him to join them in celebrating his life and cherishing his memory.
Memorial donations may be made to an animal shelter or charity of your choice.
