Corine P. Coates

Scottsville-Corine P. Coates passed peacefully on August 29th, 2026 at the age of 99. She would have turned 100 years old on September 21st. 2026. She is survived by son Jay and daughter-in-law Jacqueline Coates, grandsons Joshua Coates and Rex Martinez. granddaughters Ashley Martinez and Jenna Callea (Joseph), great grandsons Maverick and Harrison Callea. Predeceased by daughter Jyl Martinez and grandson James Henry Coates, and her long time companion and dance partner, Clifton Hartford.

Corine lived a very full life with her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening in her yard, roller skating, and following a variety of swing bands that she loved to dance to. She worked as a bookkeeper for Dorey Corrugated, then a bookkeeper for Mr. Steak Restaurant, followed by serving as the Assistant Town Clerk for the Town of Wheatland. She was a member of Union Presbyterian Church in Scottsville for nearly 60 years where she served as a Deacon for many many years. She loved her family and enjoyed many wonderful family times and activities with her grandchildren and getting to know her great grandsons.

Her Funeral Service will be held on September 12, at 11:30am at Union Presbyterian Church, 1 Browns Ave. Scottsville.
