Obituary for Warren Halter

Our beloved father Warren Halter passed away in his home on April 25th, 2023, at the age of 64. He is survived by his brother Charlie Halter and sister Carol Kelly, along with 4 children Raymond Halter (Abby), Courtney Dovolos (Nick), Lindsay Wilkins (Mark), and Kristopher Brownell (Lori). He left behind 8 grandchildren whom he loved greatly: Abby, Lydia, Georgia, Taylor, Gavin, Chessah, Anah, and Lilliana.

He was born in Rochester NY on October 30th, 1958, to Verne Halter and Hildegard Sly. Warren, fondly known as Woody, grew up on Britton Road in Charlotte NY. He graduated from Charlotte High School before becoming a certified motorcycle mechanic at the American Motorcycle Institute in Daytona Beach Florida. He went on to spend 47 years as a mechanic working on both cars and motorcycles. He accomplished so much in his 4 decades, most notably the achievement of Master Ford Service Technician.

Warren had two main passions in life, his kids, and his motorcycles. He spent his life in service to his kids, providing love, guidance, and lessons that will allow them to thrive long after his passing. He never missed an opportunity to help fix a car, attend a sporting event, or go on a fishing trip. He spent much of his time immersed in his love for motorcycles, including working at Maddie’s Motorsports for the last two years of his life. His passion spanned over 50 years and included his prize possession, a collection of Triumphs, which he rode for the last time just days before his passing.

The loss of our father is great, not only to us but to the many people he has met along the way. Although the pain will never truly go away, we know that his love, lessons, and memories will stay with us until we meet again.
Calling hours followed by a service will be held at J.H. Cameron Funeral Home in Scottsville NY on May 3rd, 2023, from 4-7pm. All friends and family are welcome. A celebration of life will be held. Specific details will be provided once confirmed.
