Obituary for David C. Aurand
David C. Aurand, aged 83, passed peacefully June 22 with his loving wife of 65 years at his side. In addition to Susanne, he is survived by his children, Nancy Sanderson, David (Melonie) Aurand; his grandchildren, Alena Sanderson, Rob Sanderson, Stephanie Aurand, David Aurand, Matthew Aurand; and great-granddaughter Evelyn Sanderson. He was preceded in death by his parents Boyd T. and Pauline G. Aurand, and his brother Gerald.
Born in Troxelville, PA, Dave moved with his family to Rochester as a teen. He and Sue met as classmates at Brighton High School. They eventually made their home in Scottsville where Dave gave his time as a member of the volunteer fire department. A proud brother of IBEW Local 86, he spent over 30 years of his career at O’Connell Electric. Dave was known to his family and friends as a man of great patience and kindness. He loved the outdoors, could fix almost anything, was devoted to his family, and will be greatly missed for his good nature, warm smile, and sense of humor.
Friends and family may call Tuesday, June 28 from 4-7 at J.H. Cameron Funeral Home 26 Rochester St. Scottsville. His Funeral Serivce will be held Wednesday, June 29 at 10am at Union Presbyterian
Church, 1 Browns Ave, Scottsville. Interment to follow at Holy Angels Cemetery, Scottsville.
