SCOTTSVILLE - Ninety years of age, of the Rochester Presbyterian Home, passed away on September 21, 2020 and has gone to be with her beloved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.Phoebe was born in Milton Delaware on May 17, 1930 to Clarence and Arie Fries. She graduated from Sarasota High School, Florida.She met Donald L. Kauffman in Sarasota, they were married and shortly afterwards moved to Rochester, NY to work and raise a family. She taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and passed her Christian values to her family. After Don passed away Phoebe married Thomas VanDerMeid. Tom and Phoebe were active in serving and supporting their local church and enjoyed domestic and international travel. Phoebe was a excellent homemaker, gardener, and along with Don and the children they were an outdoors family enjoying travel camping, hunting, fishing, motorcycling, and more. Phoebe and family were active part of their local church.

Phoebe is survived by her children; Thelma (Jeff ) Newcomb, Vernon (Kathy) Kauffman, Sandra (Stan) Davis, Fred Kauffman, Barry Kauffman. Grandchildren; Sheila Sider, Mark and Daniel Newcomb, and many great grandchildren, and additional family members.
