Obituary for Karen L. Kyle (Erick)

Passed away peacefully in Scottsville, NY on July 10, 2020 at age 74.

Karen is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, John Kyle; children Kathy (Scott) Allen and Jeffrey (Catherine) Kyle; grandchildren Sarah, Rachel, Jack, Benjamin, and Leila; siblings Arlene Miller and Robert Erick, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Beatrice Erick, and brother, Barry Erick.

Karen was born in Dunkirk, NY. She graduated from the University of Buffalo, where she met John when she was a freshman. After raising her children, she became an IRS Enrolled Agent and was employed as an income tax preparer for H&R Block for over 25 years.

Karen loved reading, gardening, knitting, baking, traveling (especially to Africa), and her cats. She founded the Creative Investment Club and spent many years as the treasurer of the club. Karen was very active in the Scottsville Union Presbyterian Church and was proud of her service there as an educator and elder.

A private interment was held with a Memorial Service to be scheduled in the future once social distancing guidelines have been lifted.
