Obituary for Linda Jean Harper (Gardner)

Linda Jean (Gardner) Harper was born on March 13, 1940 in Niagara Falls, NY to Henry & Roselyn Gardner. Linda passed away on April 24, 2020 in Charleston, SC at age 80.

Linda graduated from Pittsford Central School in 1958 and lived in Rochester until 2001. She worked at Sibley's Department Store for many years and later McCurdy’s Department Store as an artist for the advertising department. Linda loved art and animals, especially horses. She loved to ride and owned several horses.

She met her spouse Russell Harper in a trail riding club. They owned a farm in Chili where they cared for horses, cows and other animals. Linda & Russell were married for 24 years until his passing in 1999. She moved in 2001 to Charleston, SC to be with family. During her time in South Carolina, she enjoyed going to the beach, sketching pictures, knitting and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Andrea H. Hogan (Patrick); grandchildren, Lauren V. Hogan and Henry B. Hogan; several nieces & nephews. In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her siblings, William H. Gardner, Stuart C. Gardner and Via Gardner.

Linda will be laid to rest in Oatka Cemetery in Scottsville, NY
