Shirley Daniels (Hill)
Le Roy- On December 28, 2017, Shirley Hill Daniels, age 89, surrounded with love and friendship, passed peacefully to her next life when the window was opened for her soul to fly home.

Born January 18, 1928 and raised on Platt Avenue in LeRoy, NY, Shirley was a daughter of the late Erma Gardner Hill and the late Eugene Hill. Also predeceased by her brother Jack Hill, and sisters Virginia Smith and Audrey Fagan.

Shirley is survived by her daughters Linda (Paul) Keister of Le Roy and LuAnn Daniels of Cape May Point, NJ, and family friend Ron Rollet of Cape May Point, NJ; grandchildren Jon (Andrea Smith) Keister of Churchville, NY and his daughters Jacqueline, Carissa and Isabella; Scott (Gabrielle) Keister and their children Scott and Madeira; Melanie (Mike) Tresco and their children Reece and Kailyn; and Jamie (Trevor Hess) Lathan and her sons Bryce and Luke, all of LeRoy; sister-in-law JoAnne (late Jack) Hill of Virginia; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Her Husband of 59 years, Alwyn E. Daniels of Main Rd, Stafford , passed in May, 2007. Their romance began in 1938 when 10 year old Shirley sent a Valentine to her 13 year old sweetheart, Alwyn. Al and Shirley were reacquainted after Al returned from serving in WWII when his niece told him Shirley Hill was still living on Platt Avenue. They married in 1947 in LeRoy, NY, and lived in Batavia where they raised their daughters.

Shirley was a secretary at Batavia Junior High School for 13 years. In 1974, they moved to Columbia, Maryland where she completed her career in Prince George County Schools in Maryland. Upon retirement in 1990, Al and Shirley moved to Lady Lake, Florida, where they lived until 2005, then they returned home and lived in Bergen, NY.

Her Family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to all of the extraordinary staff at the Le Roy Village Green for the wonderful, loving care Shirley received while residing there for over 3 years. Their daily compassion, kindness and friendship to Shirley and her family will never be forgotten.

There will be no prior calling hours. Friends and Family are welcome to join us as we honor our Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother at a graveside service at Grandview Cemetery, Batavia, NY, on May 12, 2018 at 3:00 PM
