Bissell, Kathleen M.

Rochester: 86 yrs. 7/16/29-5/2/16. KATHY died peacefully in her sleep on May 2nd, 2016, after a long struggle with pulmonary/heart disease. Upon discharge from Highland Hospital, she spent her last days at the home of her good friend, Mary Scheg.

Kathy is predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Kathleen Bissell, siblings Beverly Bissell & Phyllis Pinson of Rochester, NY. She is survived by her brother Phil and sister-in-law, Bonnie Bissell of Holden, Ma; also, nephews Kenneth Miikko (Bath, NY), James Bissell (Worcester, MA), Christopher Pinson (Rochester, NY).

Kathy did not drive a car, but flew to Las Vegas, and bussed to Atlantic City, two of her favorite places on earth. With family and friends, she dined out on Sundays (with a special meal and glass of red wine), and went for long drives in the country. She loved Rochester, and her downtown apartment. She lived for phone calls, paperback fiction and movies on her wide-screen TV. She loved to visit with Mary Scheg, and take calls from nephew James and especially appreciated his cards and small monetary donations.
Kathy, smiling or frowning, always told you how it was going to be. She was self-willed, stubborn and usually got her way. I’m sure, at times, she was a trial to her loving health care team.

Kathy was buried at Holy Angels Cemetery in Scottsville, NY, on May 11th. She is now with her family- forever.
